Artist Statement

As a socially engaged artist I believe in creating and fostering work that encourages connection and intimacy. The theme of “solidarity” is integral to my work because of this. Solidarity is about establishing trust, being unconditionally supportive, believing lived experiences, and amplifying underrepresented voices. My first piece, “Solidarity” shows two bodies in a gentle embrace surrounded by the words “empathy, trust and solidarity”. The words create a safe environment for them to show one another love.
