Artist Statement

I created the George Floyd illustration shortly after he had been murdered by police.  As an artist, I felt that it was my way of honoring George Floyd and helping to call attention to the injustice that he and countless other black and brown people have suffered at the hands of Police.

I believe the piece would be an important contribution to the Solidarity Street Gallery because it is a call for action against the racist system that stands in opposition to the Justice and Equality that every race deserves in our society.

I do sincerely hope, if there is ANY good to come out of the tragic death of George Floyd, and countless others, that it will be change. My print is a call for change, and a reminder of what every person deserves: Justice, Equality, and Humanity.
