LASTER, Mariah

Artist Statement

My pieces in this exhibition depict a variety of emotions, from black and brown figures. I strive to have the viewer walk away from my work seeing black and POC people in a different light.

Mariah is a portrait artist who lives in St. Paul, MN. Her passion for drawing and painting began when she was a child. The love of oil paint began in college, with inspirations from artists such as John Singer Sargent, Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald.
