Artist Statement
Painting for me is close to an ongoing prayer enhanced with color. I tend to be nocturnal during my awake state. There is little distraction during nighttime when mindfulness and meditation are at their peak. I often paint until dawn, at my studio on the East Side of St. Paul. Afterwards, I head over to Payne Avenue for a psychedelic breakfast capturing the goodness of those who work and live the neighborhood – the beauty for the offering.
Artist Bio
John Vieno lives and works in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been painting the loving universe since 1983 using multiple media. John’s studio is in the historic Hamm's Brewery Complex, on the East-Side of St. Paul. You will find him there practicing visual art, poetry and mindfulness.
