The subject matter of my series of paintings in this exhibition is black and white portraits. My inspiration comes from depicting people of all ages and ethnicities. My portraits are of everyday people in our community and around the world. This series to me means capturing the faces of humanity. My hope is that the viewer will experience compassion and understanding of people in general.
I attended Fort Lauderdale Art Institute in the 80’s and obtained a degree in advertising. I was raised in Jacksonville Florida by my single mother, who raised a family alone. My mother inspired me to persevere and make the best of any situation. I have exhibited my work in Florida as well as numerous venues throughout the Twin Cities.
