The inspiration behind this image came directly from the students that I get to work with on a daily basis. Our space is cherished by a large amount of the Latinx community in South Minneapolis. Every day I get to see youth with so much potential, resilience and talent. When I ran across a photo of Yalitza Aparicio, I was immediately drawn to the strength and silent power of the image. “Sanando” (healing/a cure) is what I believe our youth will bring to this world and I am honored to be able to witness parts of their contributions every time I roam my schools hallways.
