Oil Paintings

Artist Statement:  Approaching every day with an open mind and an open heart, I gain inspiration from sleeping and waking dreams and embrace their capacity to connect the physical and metaphysical realms. I believe that the process of creating art connects me with a larger energy and it is through my participation as a conduit for that energy that my art achieves authenticity. The series, “Old Wounds” addresses our need as a community to recognize and address the serious damage done by internalized trauma enabling us to create a space for discussion and healing.

Artist Bio:  My paintings focus on cultivating a sense of positive energy. I have been awarded Artist Excellence Grants from the Central MN Arts Board in 2011, 2014 and 2015. In 2020 I received a “Project for Hope” community involvement grant from Forecast Public Art. I received formal artistic training at Gustavus Adolphus College in MN and Temple University’s Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy.
