ARTIST STATEMENT: I’m heavily inspired by nature and the feminine form, how both are so different but yet similar. Personally my pieces reflect a journey of healing as an Indigenous woman who’s lived through sexual assault and abuse (something far too many Indigenous women go through). I hope my pieces can offer a different view of the feminine body to view it as magical and life giving, not a temptation or something to be ashamed of.
Artist Bio: My name is Take Care, I’m an Anishinaabe and Zapotec artist who currently resides in Saint Paul. As my name implies my art is a space of healing and Taking Care of the inner self we often neglect and ignore. Art kept me in this world when I’d lost my way; I followed it and found a sense of understanding, peace, and hope. I hope I can share a piece of that with someone with every piece I make.
